Engenheiro de Produto (TRATON)
Development of vehicle systems for commercial vehicle applications, with a focus on e‑Propulsion and Drivetrain systems, ensuring product performance, quality, mass targets, and cost targets, while adhering to project assumptions, scope, and timelines as defined in the Project Roadmap.
One of the key responsibilities of the Product Development Engineer is to define the strategic vision for the product and its validation plan. This includes analyzing the market, identifying opportunities, understanding customer needs, and aligning product objectives with the company’s overall strategy.
Responsabilities
- Development of e‑Propulsion and Drivetrain systems, including Clutch, Transmission, Driveshaft and Axles, using Agile methodology;
- Material optimization with a focus on mass and cost reduction, applying knowledge of strength of materials and vehicle dynamics;
- Analysis of the development and execution of systems and components under responsibility, ensuring final product performance, quality, timelines, and cost targets;
- Support during the Pre‑Development phase, providing inputs based on lessons learned from previous projects and field issues, including layout execution;
- Benchmarking activities on competitor vehicles to support and guide development decisions;
- Support for internal, external, and homologation testing, analysis of test results, and project revisions according to engineering and quality approval criteria, ensuring final product performance;
- Monitoring of prototype assembly, ensuring quality, performance, and compliance with scheduled test timelines;
- Preparation of technical documentation in accordance with Engineering disciplines for component release;
- Problem analysis and resolution using structured methodologies;
- Coordination of all required stakeholders within cross‑functional teams (R&D, Purchasing, Production, etc.);
- Participation and support in VCT follow‑up meetings, tracking task execution and progress;
- Follow‑up of development activities with suppliers, including concept development, technical studies, tooling, and testing;
- Planning of activities within the area of responsibility, ensuring decision‑making aligned with project milestones;
- Application of innovations and new technologies to current products and ongoing projects.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Mechanical / Electrical / Automotive / Mechatronics / Production Engineer;
- Postgraduate degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Production, Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronics Engineering, and/or Project Management or Business Management is desirable;
- Hybrid / Electric Vehicles / Vehicle Dynamics / Automotive Mechanics are also desirable;
- Fluent English is required for daily work with a multicultural Traton Group team;
